Tufts is one of my top choices and although I want to visit, I don't think I will be able to for the usual financial/lack of time issues...

I was on their website though and I found something called the "Voices of Tufts: The Diversity Experience" for high school seniors. Did that already occur this year? I'm guessing it probably has because for other schools that have similar programs, their weekend was in October or early November, but it didn't have a date on the website so I was just wondering.

I just hope that I can demonstrate my interest in my essays...I went to go see a rep who visited my school and he was really great, but other than that I haven't visited campus or done anything else that would shoe that I really like Tufts!
And also, in previous years, a lot of my older friends who were accepted to Tufts decided to go to other schools so I hope admissions officers won't be reminded of that when they read applications from students from my school...

Any advice?
Thanks in advance!

The Voices problem did already happen this year. It was right around Halloween but I think they may have one in the spring. I did the same program when it was associated with April Open House last year but that was after decisions had been given obviously. And I’d just recommend really showing interest. I’m sure they understand that not everyone can visit, especially if they live far away.

We didn’t visit- too expensive. My D went to the admissions rep meeting at her HS, and did the interview. She’s now a freshman (and very happy).

Hey Button,

If you feel like you need to visit because worried about demonstrated interest, put that out of your mind. There are so many ways to help us understand your connection to Tufts, like a Why Tufts that shows you understand our culture, or by talking with the rep who visited, or through essays that demonstrate your desire to become a global citizen. (And countless other ways)

Plus, we aren’t jerks. And penalizing an applicant for not having the financial means to come to campus sounds like something a jerk would do. So, we don’t do that.

If you’re admitted and need to visit campus in the spring, there are ways we can help with that, so a visit to campus is absolutely possible.
