I'm going to Virginia for a weekend and have to decide between visiting UVA and William and Mary. What is there to do around Williamsburg? Anything worthwhile?

Williamsburg is a tourist area - there are tons of things to do, depending on your interests. Here's a link: http://www.visitwilliamsburg.com/

theoneo - are you interested in visiting colonial williamsburg? If that isn't your cup of tea, Busch Gardens is nearby and Virginia Beach is also in the area. Williamsburg itself has many strip malls and outlets away from the Colonial area.

no way to catch them both? They're only 2 hours away from each other.

Williamsburg has colonial Williamsburg (incl ghost tours), outlet malls, and close to Jamestown and Yorktown, as well as Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. As well as Go Karts, PutPut, etc.

Hm. That sounds really intersting.

We're driving down Saturday morning at around 3 or 4 and catching the information session and tour - I think they're at 10?. Anyway, the sessions are at exactly the same time, so I can only go to one. I may end up driving around both campuses, though.
