I have a friend coming to visit this weekend who will be here Thursday night - Sunday night. I live in Lambeth, so where would be the best place to park her car? I figured UHall, but according to the website you have to purchase a temporary blue parking pass from the parking office? Does anybody know how this works? She won't be arriving until after the P&T office is closed on Thursday, so I'm not sure where she should park for the night.

She could park her car at Barracks in front of Harris Teeter (I know its a little bit far).

I suggest calling the Parking office tomorrow and asking them. We have found them easy to deal with by phone.

Thursday night (5:30pm onwards) through Friday at 7:30am she can park for free. At that point she needs to do something with her car until 5:30pm friday night. I say this because after that she can park for the entire weekend for free. You can park for free at UHall/JPJ, I believe, if there are no games/events (seems football free), and a variety of other lots like places in the stadium. I always parked in T4 because of its proximity to my residence and job. http://www.virginia.edu/parking/documents/maps/ParkingMap.pdf I don’t know what this temporary pass is but your friend should get a 1 day one for Friday early in the morning. You also can get 1 warning ticket (free) so if she is never coming back, she could just park and get the warning citation and not pay for a pass. Just make sure it is in a lot they do not tow from (I have gotten a warning ticket for leaving my car in Kerchof (C1) overnight and not been towed). Good luck!

Thanks everybody!!
