Hi,

We will be visiting Pitt on a Saturday. We will arrive on a Friday night and leave on Sunday afternoon. My son and I will be doing the tour of Pitt on Saturday.

Any suggestions for activities for the rest of the family for Saturday and all of us Friday night/Saturday evening / Sunday?

Thanks in advance.

Take a drive up to Mount Washington and just check out the view day or night. Or you can ride the Duquesne Incline to the top. There’s better parking if you do it that way. Here’s their website: [Official site of the Duquesne Incline](http://www.duquesneincline.org/)
Other places to visit-- Museums-- Carnegie Scicence and Andy Warhol are on the north side near the stadiums and it’s a nice area to just walk around along the river. Jerome Bettis’ restaurant has great food and there are several other restaurants between the two stadiums.
Lots of other things to do in Pittsburgh! My DS is a Junior…and I feel like we’ve only scratched the surface
This website has a lot of good information:
[Cool Pittsburgh - Come to Learn, Come to Live](http://www.coolpgh.pitt.edu/)

Pittsburgh has a very long list of fun things to do. In Oakland itself, there are several great attractions: Touring the Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning, the Carnegie Museums of Natural History and/or Art, as well as the beautiful Phipps Conservatory.
If you’ve never been to the top of Mt Washington via incline, that is a must do IMO. You can also do active things like kayaking on the Allegheny River or renting a bike on the extensive riverfront bike paths. Other area Museums include the Carnegie Science Center and the Andy Warhol Museum. In the evening, you could have dinner in one of the city’s distinctive neighborhoods - South Side, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, or Downtown around Market Square (Wingharts - great burgers). Oh and there is a zoo and Kennywood amusement park. The fountain at Point State Park is finally running again and is great to visit. I could go on and on.

In Schenley Plaza right next to the Cathedral, there are a couple food kiosks - be sure to try Conflict Kitchen for a quick bite. [Conflict Kitchen](http://www.conflictkitchen.org/) Really cool concept - they only cook cuisine from countries that the US is in conflict with. They research issues, travel to that country or visit with expats, gather authentic recipes and then highlight that cuisine and country. I think they are still highlighting Iranian cuisine - we went there during a Pitt visit and it was sooooooo good. Be sure to open the paper wrapping your food which is a mini-snapshot about what they learned. They said Cuba is next and then N. Korea in the fall. I also highly recommend the nationality rooms in the Cathedral - self-paced tour which costs only a few bucks.
