I know that 1 year of "Visual and Performing Arts" is required among the high school courses, for freshman admission. I have taken 2 years of Concert Band, and 1 year of Jazz Band. Have I completed the Arts requirement? If not, what can I do?

Check the registrar at your high school…if they gave you credit for it, good. If not, you might need to fill out a form requesting for the credit, or else just take a year-long art class next year.

Check the box with your credits in them. Mine has a box that has the categories that are needed to graduate as well as A-G requirements and if I have the credits or not

^It’s hard to describe. We have an area on our transcripts with the categories like Mathematics, foreign language, and all of those. It has the credits we have to get and what we currently have. On there it should say if you have fulfilled it.

You probably do though if you took an actual class

However, I did look up some California courses, and it looks like Concert Band would work for the requirement. I’ve been trying to contact Berkeley’s admissions office to make sure, but their phones never work XD

If I remember correctly, concert band counts for the fine arts requirement while marching band counts for visual and performing arts. In order to be eligible for UC admission though, you have to have two semesters STRAIGHT of a VPA class, not two separate semesters.
