Visual Arts, does it matter?

Well, I took art this year, and I am pretty much failing (we have a diploma requirement that mandates art.). I'm getting like C right now. I'm getting A's in all my other subjects (by midterm). Looks like art is gonna drop my grades a lot (literally). I'm thinking about applying to harvard, and does art (or music) matter a lot? Like, wouldn't they value academic grades more than art grades?

P.S. I play flute in orchestra. I'm planning to send a cd of my playing. (I'm kinda better at music)

Some colleges and universities don't factor art (P.E., or religion) into their GPA calculations. Some do.
