<p>One of the posts mentions applying to an all-around school with a good fine arts program. I agree. What I do know about some non-specialty schools outside of say RISD is that many kids go to Carnegie & Johns Hopkins for their arts programs given that these are primarily science schools. I have a friend whose son who is an art major at Vassar. I have a cousin who did film at Drew & a cousin who did BFA via Uconn & Brown. May I suggest Cooper Union School of the Arts, NYU, & Rutgers (either BFA or BA).</p>
<p>I don’t know if I’d suggest Cooper Union…from what I know of it it’s not very liberal arts focused. Also, it is extremely rigorous, so not much time to pursue any outside interests.</p>
<p>NYU is definitely a good option.</p>
