Viterbi Engineering at USC

I have noticed that many people have applied to Viterbi. Does anybody have any info as far as the program is concerned, how it compares to others, etc.... Also, I have been accepted to biomed/electrical engineering, so if anyone wants to share some info about that program I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks ppl!

All that I've managed to figure out is that they have a pretty new building.

I've read that it's ranked sixth among private engineering colleges, so it's supposed to be very good.

6th for grad school

Its a great grad school...and they just finished (well, its not done quite yet) a brand new building specifically for undergrads...

So far I've heard good things about it's grad school... has anyone found out about their undergrad programs, since that's what we'd be in?

US News ranks the UG program #22 in the nation tied with Duke, UCLA, UCSD, UMaryland, and UWash.

Lot of money going into Viterbi right now. Wouldn't be surprised to see the school make a significant jump in the rankings by the time you guys graduate.

Wait, I don't quite get this stuff. If the same teachers teach the grad and undergrad students, how can there be a differenece in the 2 programs?

I'm sure the curriculum differs, for one...

Undergrads are probably more likely to be in big classes. Also, I would think that a rating that's undergraduate would include the GE classes at USC that I've heard not-the-greatest things about.

I've read a lot of good things about Thematic Option.

I am wondering whether I would get the same engineering education from USC as compared to a school like UTAustin. I know USNEWS doesn't rank accurately.

UT:Austin seems to have a bueracracy of doom. Housing is also a severe mess and in shortage there. I don't actually know about the academics, but if you PM me I can put you in touch with a CS freshman, I think, if he's willing.
