Viterbo University

Anybody ever heard of it?
I walked into it at the Unifieds.

Nope. Never heard of it.

I have, but only because of the Unified's website

I have heard of it - in fact looked into it for my s. Wasn't sure his GPA was high enough. I think I read they somewhat new acting (MT?) - however, it is in Wisconsin I believe and it looked like traveling there could be a nightmare.

Take a look at this thread from 2005 with additional posts last year:

It is an outstanding school for Musical Theatre. Susan Rush who has starred on Broadway runs the program but is retiring. It has a 2000 seat theatre on campus. It is loacted in LaCrosse Wisconsin. We visited twice and auditioned on campus. She told me they only have about 8 spots available for fall 2008. The classes are small and friendly. There's a girl that just graduated from there who is in wicked, can't recall her name. I remember seeing over 50 yrs of plays (they post the programs and posters) on the walls in the hallways.

My niece is a freshman MT at Viterbo and she likes it quite a bit. It sounds like she's getting good training. The biggest drawback for her is that the campus clears out on the weekend with most kids going home. So she has felt pretty lonely at times. Hopefully once she gets busier with productions that won't be as bad.

The way they send out acceptances seems to have no clear timetable, however. My niece got her acceptance in early April after she auditioned in January. My S auditioned a couple of years ago in January and recieved his acceptance one week later. So I think perhaps they send their additional batch out, then wait to see who accepts and then go to alternates - I'm not sure though!
