Vocab book for SAT

What vocab books do you all suggest? I heard direct hit is the best. Is that right?

I have seen the book HOT WORDS FOR THE SAT by Linda Carnevale recommended in an amazon review, but idk which is the best.

Yes. Go buy Direct Hits right now!

DH is definitely the best. Most hits along with the best (and funniest) examples.

rOadTo3b - take a look at Dark Knight's thread "Which Vocabulary book performed best on the October PSATs?" currently on page 6. DH is the clear winner. Would also suggest you supplement DH with the Core Words in Rocket Review.

Word Smart!

can anyone tell me a little more about direct hit?
1) how many words are there? hundreds (like in hit parade) or thousands (like in barron's)?
2) in what exactly form they are listed? word+transcription+definition(synonyms)+example sentence? stupid question but anyway: how many words per page?

thanks in advance!

you dont need to buy it anymore! just go to the index of the amazon direct hits book search!

ive written this with no intention of getting involved in any sort of copyright infringement. after all, its on amazon, and i think its perfectly legal to just look at a legal website!

Flibb, ohh thanks so much!!

uggghh looks like i dont need this book coz i already know almost all of those words....
