I just memorized every single Direct Hit word. Im taking the SAT in January and want to get at least 17-18 of the sentence completion right. Do you guys have any suggestions what other vocab list will be good to study or with Direct Hits suffice?

Its always great to look at othersources. Maybe you can find Princeton Review’s hit parade online or something…but Direct Hits is great. In the last 3 practice tests I have taken (I have read volume 1 and only half of volume 2 of DH), I got only 2 sentence completion wrong. DH mixed with PR is a deadly combo in my opinion!

So you really thing that PR with DH will be worth it?

Helped me a lot, I rarely get q’s on the sentence completion wrong anymore…the ones I get wrong I just don’t read correctly. PR sells a 500 card sat box with vocab. Most of the vocab I knew (you probably do too) but like 100-200 words were absolutely vital IMO and I didn’t know them before I got the box. Check amazon.

hey guys, 2 questions. First, in DH, there’s always additional words in the quick review…like 1. ______ then in the back it will have __, …should I memorize these words too?

Also, people are telling me memorizing words won’t help on test day…
If I memorize all 400 words, how much should I expect to miss out of 19 sentence completions? Jan SAT is my first one btw…

DH and PR helped me out A Lot. Most of those appear throughout the SAT, so even knowing them so you can eliminate them as answer choices helps a lot.

I have that box but i put it away since i got DH guess ill study them as well thanks drac

@apstudent1 you should know every single word in the index of DH absolutely

Index also? Alright thanks so much because I have a lot to memorize. I only had gotten through 100 words, and I forgot some of them…

Hopefully it’ll help because people were telling me how possibly none of the words could show up…=/. I guess they don’t know about DH?
