Hey guys, I posted this in the general forum, but I didn't get any replies, so here goes. Does the College Board have a list of most used vocabulary words on the SAT? If so, where can I find it? Could anyone possibly post a link(s)? Thanks. I scored a perfect on the PSAT for vocabulary, but I just want to know so I'm not studying for the wrong thing.

Apparently direct hits is AMAZING.

Here is what I read:

"Direct Hits 2010 is incontrovertibly effective. When juxtaposed to other SAT vocabulary sources, Direct Hits is clearly superior.

After carefully analyzing the October 2009 SAT, a SAT tutor came to the following conclusion about the effectiveness of Direct Hits: (Name / Total # of Words / # of Words that appeared on Oct. 09 SAT)

Direct Hits: 400 Words/9 hits/1 hit per 44 words

TestMasters: 254 Words/2 hits/1 hit per 127 words

Princeton Review: 253 Words/2 hits/1 hit per 127 words

Hot Words: 396 Words/3 hits/1 hit per 132 words

Rocket Review: 323 Words/2 hits/1 hit per 161 words

Barron’s Mini-Dictionary: 3500 Words/9 hits/1 hit per 388 words

Thus, Direct Hits is by far the most effective, providing the most frequent “hits” per word. Save time and score higher by using Direct Hits 2010. I know I did. "

Also check the stickied top 400 SAT words vocab words - it’s a great list imo. Dude compiled all the common words and ordered them according to frequency (percentage).

No, to my knowledge, CB does NOT have a vocabulary list. The best way to learn the words is from the Direct Hits books.
