Do you plan to pursue a BM degree or a BA in Music? There is a pretty big difference in the intensity. Do you plan to try to audtion for some of the top programs such as IU, Rice, Oberlin?

Smaller: Oberlin, Bard, Lawrence, Furman, Westminster Choir College of Rider College, N.C. School of the Arts, Oklahoma City U. I’m assuming that you’re referring to colleges rather than conservatories.

Also, Puget Sound in Washington.

Westminster Choir College

[About Us | Westminster Choir College](About Westminster Choir College | Rider University)

I am planning to have a BM in Music.

MomofWildChild: I do plan to audition for the big named schools, but I would also like to apply the lesser big named schools as well

Wright State University in OH has a very good program (auditions are required).

Does anyone know anything about USC, Duquesene, and Chapman?

I’m going to Illinois Wesleyan University (School of Music) for piano performance, and there are a few vocal performance majors coming in this fall too. Definitely go to the music major forum. Tons of other threads with people asking for schools to look into.
