I am trying to find information about which schools have the best vocal programs. I am looking to major in vocal performance (tenor). I dont even know where to begin looking. Anoyone have good advice for me? I'd like to go to a large university near a big city, but I suppose small colleges probably have better programs... or do they? I dont know anything, obviously. Somebody help me!

ok well this is definitely not a large school near a big city, but st. olaf in northfield MN is well known for it's outstanding choir, so i'm assuming that they have very good vocal major programs. they're currently going on a tour across the country with CTCL (colleges that change life). it's a tour worth checking out, it's basically schools that give you an excellent education and experience but aren't the hardest to get into. anyway, if you went to that fair, you could ask the st. olaf people more about being a vocal performance major.

Check out the Music Majors forum. There's a ton of info there if you look around.

Good luck on your search. : )
I'm also going to be majoring in vocal performance (soprano), so we're in the same boat.
