Vocal Performance-Undergraduate...Where to begin?

Hey, I realize that there are already so many posts regarding vocal performance, so I apologize if this is repetitive. However, I am currently a junior in high school and plan to major in vocal performance; I will be auditioning for colleges next year, and have only just begun to sift through the many colleges that I may want to attend. I've read alot about certain schools lacking opportunities for undergraduates, but it's very difficult for me to find adequate information on this from the colleges' websites themselves, being that they naturally all claim to have fabulous undergrad programs. Here is a very tentative list I've compiled of places I'm interested in, but what I would really love is for you guys to point out any major red flags you see, or any thoughts you have, or possibly inform me of other options I should be considering. I'm sorry that's so broad, but like I said, I have only just begun my search, and need to lay a foundation to build upon.

My list:
Oberlin
Ithaca
Boston University
Westminster Choir College
Eastman School of Music
Peabody
Lawrence
Carnegie Mellon
SUNY Purchase
Northwestern
Jacobs School of Music

Thank you so much for your input!

Also, just further info about me in case it helps:
My weighted GPA is 4.6, unweighted is 3.7. SAT score is 2160, taking them again in May, ACT score is 31. I've taken 2 AP courses this year, taking 3 more next year, including AP Music Theory. Placed 1st in the NATS regional high school division, attending Westminster's Solo Vocalist program this summer; so that will be like the ultimate college tour. I've also scheduled a tour of Peabody for this upcoming Monday.

While looking for a school that is a good fit, you must focus on what teacher you want to work with, DO NOT take “pot luck”! Search for a thread called Voice Majors - Things to Consider.

It depends on what you are looking for. Are you interested in opera, or musical theatre, or classical voice? Do you like being a part of a choir? Are you looking for other musical events or only singing? Are you interested in education? Is location important to you?

There are many more conservatories you can add to your list, and many other universities with good music programs. Your list is extremely broad, so you might need to give a few more hints about the specifics of what you are looking for.

I would suggest adding Rice to your list. It is one of the tippy top “conservatories” for voice and can also provide world class academics. Based on your stats you would probably qualify academically, but the audition counts for almost everything when it comes to admission.
