I’m planning on submitting a vocal supplement to Harvard via slideroom. However, on Harvard’s website, they don’t specify whether they’d prefer an audio recording or a video. Personally, it would be easier for me to submit audio only, but what would you guys recommend?
Harvard used to have very specific information about this issue and only wanted audio recordings. The directions now say to go to Slideroom for more information.
Have you done that? What does Slideroom say?
If it’s easier and you have a really good sample of your vocal abilities or a performance, then go ahead and submit the audio. Unless Slideroom says otherwise. Are you looking at the double degree with NEC at all?
Per the instructions, they would prefer audio.
I say this with a great deal of love for Harvard, but they are so boneheaded sometimes. There is no reason that they could not spend the three minutes to add this to the website instead of expecting an applicant to navigate Dante’s nine circles of Hell that is the Common App and SlideRoom to get this information.
They don’t really have specific guidelines on Slideroom, and I’m not pursuing a double major, so I think I might just submit an audio recording. Thanks for the help!
Good luck!
ps I was referring to the BA/MM double degree program with NEC, not a double major…
