voice recorder

I want a voice recorder for my ipod to record lectures and such. however, i'd have to get a new ipod since there is no voice recorder for the ipod mini. anyways, is it worth it? how many of you record your lectures?

I've never met one person that has done this.

Yea, i doubt that recording lectures would be any help or practical. I haven't met a person or heard of a person who actually does that...

Ditto, it's very impractical and I've never known someone who does that.

I used to do it in my philosophy course, alot of time people used to use recorders becaue professors would not allow you to write notes in class.

Its good for some classes, but not really needed. I haven't gone to a class in over 4 years(except first day and tests), so I just read the books./

if youre interested in recording lectures, you might as well just get a microphone for your laptop ($10) (or you already have one if you have a mac), rather than buy a new ipod ($250) and the iTalk ($35).

Or get a little mini-tape recorder.

The only time it might be worth it is if you are an anth or sociology student who will have to do field studies. But even then, my school and probably others have ipods with recorders in the library for loan.

what are you talking about

yeah why would you never go to class and shell out all that moneY?

thanks for your help! i'll just stick with my old school voice recorder if i need it.

What do you pay to go to school for, to learn, i doubt it. anybody can learn by goinging and sitting in a class, renting or buying a book. You don't have to pay to learn, so I learn and don't need some dope of a teacher t try to teach to me.

The books are all I need, I pay for Grades and the recognition that I can pass a test, though if I didn't need that I could teach any subject to myself. I never listen to professors, I think most are idiots.

I needed a digital voice recorder (olympus) for my linguistics/phonetics class, and once i had it i found it was useful to record some other lectures and listen to them again before tests, to refresh my memory and such...
That said, I wouldn't have bought it if I hadn't needed it for linguistics...

i use a recorder, but its a cheap digital one. Only use these things if the professor explicitly says "i only test from my lectures."

I know, it's not like they're experts in their field or anything and you're just an undergrad earning your bachelor's degree. Oh wait, never mind.

Also, a good number of my professors last year based their test material (or a good portion of it) off of lecture material as opposed to purely textbook material.
