voice recorders for school

I'm looking to buy a voice recorder that is under $50 for school to help with notes taking. I want to transfer the recorded voice to computer so that I can access it later. do you have any recommendations?

I bought an olympus from amazon within that budget for that purpose that was great. It could record from across a lecture hall from a pocket of my purse no problem.

Livescribe is an expensive but interesting option. I have no experience, but it seems like the coordinated paper notebook costs would add up.
