Hi I went to the voices program and I was just wondering if going to this program meant that when Tufts reviewed my voices app, they thought I would be a strong applicant. I know Tufts holistically reviews college apps but I made a 28 on the act and I sent that score to Tufts when I applied for the voices program. That's 3 whole points below their mean act score of 31...

Maybe I'm just over analyzing this whole thing but I basically want to know whether being accepted to the voices program slightly boosts your chances of being accepted or your acceptance to the voice program meant that you were already someone with a decent chance of getting accepted.

Hi! I was at the Voices Program too! What I remember Dean Coffin saying was that we have a somewhat upper hand in the application process. He seemed kinda caught off guard with that question, but he made sure we understood that we’ve already been put through a highly selective process to attend Voices in the first place. (Showing that we’re interested in Tufts, and Tufts is interested in us as well.)

Also, I think that since Voices was aimed at introducing low income, first generation, minority, LGBT, etc students to campus, we’re already showing we’re interested in contributing to the diversity of Tufts’ campus!

Hey Voices friends!

We would not have invited you to campus for Voices if you weren’t competitive applicants academically. Take a peak around the boards at all the chance me threads that you see - your time at Voices means that you know you’re where you need to be academically to have an admissions officer push for you.

But, there’s a LOT more in an application than just the academics and - since I’m now reading ED applicants - those pieces beyond the academic matter so much. Hopefully, when you were on campus you felt that, too. So now its up to you to put your case.
