What kind of volunteer works for boarding school students?

My son was thinking about take EMT this summer, but we need to sign a paper of contribute a certain mini hours for local first squad. As a boarder, we really not sure if he can do this or not.

Wondering what kind of volunteer work the boarders are doing? Is there anybody will share your experience?

My son has stayed involved with our church youth group and does what he can with them on w/e’s. Also, his club soccer team often volunteers at tournaments, field clean-up, etc. (also on w/e’s). I know NMH (and I assume that the other schools) has clubs such as Big Brother/Big Sister and Community Outreach which are dedicated to service.

arling – I think you should talk to your son’s school. Every school offers programs, but they are probably different. Blair has some programs that are clubs, others are done in conjunction with a sport or through the pastor or they participate in a town program. Recently, a dorm raised money for a cause.
