Volunteer hours might not match up - should I be concerned?

Hi, I read that some colleges will try to confirm extracurriculars. I volunteer at a place that records the hours you work for, but I also volunteer with a specific activity within the organization that doesn't record the hours. On my app I listed the hours together. I'm afraid that if admissions committees check with the organization, they will only get the recorded hours and assume that I'm lying.

Am I worrying too much, or should I somehow explain the situation (though a letter or something, or would that be annoying/pointless)? Or would colleges even go directly to the organization - would they just check with my guidance counselor (who could vouch for me)? Or is it very unlikely they would even investigate this that much?

Sorry if this is a stupid question...this whole process makes me nervous, lol

Don’t worry. The number of colleges that actually check into extracurriculars is probably microscopic, given that they have so many applicants and how would they even know who to contact anyways? I would be concerned if you didn’t volunteer at this place at all, but since you have volunteered there, I’m sure the college, even if they look into it, is going to scrutinize over every single hour you listed on your app.
