I have been doing some volunteering for the NBC Homework Helpline. I started in freshman year (now a sophomore) and I am planning on continuing this for the rest of high school. I really enjoy working there and recently, the subject of obtainig credit for it came up.

Now, credit or no credit, I’ll still volunteer but my question is: Is it better to get credit (volunteering is an actual independent sort of thing you can get credit for as if it were a class)so that I can accummulate more points in my course credits OR is it better to just leave it be without credit so colleges won’t think I am obligated to do the work?

I am leaning towards the no credit side since it makes me seem more genuine, which I am… but the idea of credit for something I love to do seems nice also…
