Volunteering in Foreign Country

I couldn't find any internships or research positions for my summer after freshmen year of college. So, I thought I had to do something at least and thought about volunteering at a hospital. But would volunteering at a hospital in South Korea be as good as volunteering at a hospital in the U.S.?

I know that volunteering at a hospital at a hospital isn't as good as getting a internship or researching, but I was wondering would having clinical experience at a big hospital in Korea help too?

... clinical experience = good.

How does one get clinical opportunities in foreign countries?

This would be a great way to get some clinical experience without worrying about medmal, right?

I think I can get clinical opportunities in Korea because I'm a Korean citizen.

What's medmal?
