I had a questions about volunteering. I tutored at my former elementary school during my sophmore year and i only logged in 10 hours. Also, I volunteered at a local soup kitchen as part of a school club during the school year and i only have a few hours (5-started late). I plan on doing more hours during the begining of senior year (10-12). Do you think that these small amount of volunteer hours are worthwile to mention in the application? (I volunteered at the hospital last summer and this summer and almost have 100 hrs. so far)

i think you can list those as some of your minor accomplishments

thanks 10 chars

i think thats up to you...do they correlate or seem like you did them just to get hrs?

also, i had a question about hours. do the number of hours really count? i volunteered a little bit last year (40hrs. in recreation) and plan on working 100+ by summers end in medical records and recreation(almost up to 80 hrs.)

Be more clear with your question. It's ambiguous....:]

(do the numbers count thing)

i meant to say that do the quantity of volunteer hours really matter (is there a suggested number of volunteer hours that colleges look for?) sorry fot the confusion

No suggested number.

does the department where i volunteer at really matter? (medical records and soon recreation)
