Is volunteering in a different country good for college apparently? Or not worth it.

Its good. All volunteer work is good. Im sure doing it in another country would show that you have diverse expierences even if it doesnt help your application a ton. If you wanna know if its worth it, well thats only something you can decide.

If it is through a program anybody can do and you just pay money to participate in it is good but not really that great. If it is a program you have to be accepted into even better!

def good. not only are you volunteering but you are getting some cross culture expierence

Some schools may wonder why you couldn’t do something worthwhile in your own community. Expensive volunteering in another country suggests you’re more interested in impressing colleges than in the work itself.

If you want to volunteer, check with your local United Way for opportunities. The Idealist website has oodles of listings for volunteers. If you’re in a religious group, ask about their programs. Ditto for an organization like Scouts.
