Vote, vote, vote

Votes are closer than you think in Ohio. And it should always matter to vote.

are you kidding, I thought Ohio was one of those "swing states" anyway go out n vote! for 99% of the time, I am proud of being a New Yorker and love my home state. Today, I hate how my vote doesn't really count...still voting.

Voting is a right.
Don't ever dismiss it or think that your vote doesn't count.

I live in a country where people didn't go to the polls, because they were fed up with politics. I have to face racism every day, and it isn't about stupid name calling or something like that. It is about being harrassed by the police and not getting a bank account, just because of my nationality.

In a true democracy, idiots and lunatics have no chance. They may be elected by sheer luck, giving good speeches, or massive marketing campaigns, but they have to face public opinion again and again and again, and the majority of people has to stand behind them. Every opinion can be voiced in a democracy - even ones you'd call rascist or stupid - if people don't want it, it will take care of itself.

It doesn't matter whom you vote for (though I'd prefer CHANGE), it does matter that you use the right you were given, even see it as a duty to your society. You are the one who stops the idiots.

First they put away the dealers,
keep our kids safe and off the street.
Then they put away the prostitutes,
keep married men cloistered at home.
Then they shooed away the bums,
then they beat and bashed the queers,
turned away asylum-seekers,
fed us suspicions and fears.
We didn't raise our voice,
we didn't make a fuss.
It's funny there was no one left to notice
when they came for us.
