vs. UC's...

would you choose Cal Poly San Louis Obisbpo over UCSB/UCSC??? Cal Poly is ranked #5 on the US News Masters University list… UCSB is #45 on the US News University list…??

i chose poly over ucla, berkeley, ucsd, ucd, ucsb, pacific, and longbeach for undergrad EE

May I ask why you chose SLO over Berkeley for EE, mathfreak?

I absolutely hate berkeley and I got in for mathematics there not engineering... It was basically down to ucla or poly but I visited ucla a number of times since my gf goes there and it was just way too big. the engineering program at poly is hands down better than all the UCs except for berkeley probably. and I also learn better visually with more of a hands on environment so a theoretical UC atmosphere would not have suited me

I chose poly over davis, ucla, and irvine. i didn't get into berkeley. if i had i would have gone there. someone told me that if you apply to both berkeley and ucla, you usually only get into one.

yeah i heard the same thing but i guess i got lucky, i had elc though

chose cal poly over SB, I, D, and easily R.

I didn't get into LA, SD, or B though.</p>

That would have made the decisoin harder.

Chose Poly over UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB. Didn't apply for Engineering at UCB, Poly vs. UCLA in engineering is a very easy choice.

SLO over UCLA, UCSD, UCI. I wanted a smaller campus, hands-on education, cheaper tuition, and co-ops. For undergraduate engineering, the choice was a no-brainer. SLO's environment is also much more appealing than the three UCs mentioned.

I chose Poly over UCD, UCR, UCSB, UCI, UCB and UCLA. Didn't apply to UCSC or Merced

I chose over UCD, UCI, UCSC, UCR. If I had gotten into UCSD, I probably would have chosen that.

what were the reasons you choose these schools over UC's. how is the town of slo? dorms, apartments? I want to major in history.
