Wow. From #20 to #7 in just one year? What’s driving the volatility?

Only 2 schools moved from outside top 15 to inside top 15 , Villanova & Georgetown.

Villanova’s improvement on this ranking is in academic quality measure and the Recruiter Survey Rank.

VSB ranked tied for #2 (vs #13 in 2010),only behind Wake Forest, in the Academic Quality Rank , which is 30% of the ranking.#12 results in Recruiter ranking vs #69 in 2010 also boosted the overall ranking.BTW, VSB was #11 overall in 2009.

In the methodology , the student survey score counts for 30 percent of the final ranking, with the recruiter survey score contributing 20 percent. Starting salaries and the MBA feeder school measure contribute 10 percent each. The academic quality measure supplies the remaining 30 percent.

The survey’s academic quality is a gauge of five equally weighted measures. From the schools Business Week obtained average SAT scores, the ratio of full-time students to faculty, and average class size. The 2011 student survey supplied the percentage of business majors with internships and the hours students spend every week on schoolwork.

Next time some asks if VSB admissions is more competitive than other Villanova schools , avg SAT for VSB is 1328 (vs 1318 last survey) , vs 1287 for all of Villanova.

Ulysses: Where did you get those numbers? I looked at the profile but didn’t see an overall average for the university.
