Currently a senior (2017) and I sent my app to Virginia Tech and I was wondering if y’all could tell whether or not I’d get in.
GPA: 8th Grade -Algebra 1.C+ Spanish 1.C+ (2.3 for 2 classes)
9th Grade-Had a strong stroke and missed lots of school (2.27)
10th Grade- Algebra 2 and History Honors. AP Physics. (3.9)
11th Grade- 6 AP Classes(4.55)
12th Grade first semester-6 AP classes and 1 honors( 4.6)
Applied with 3.5 and gpa raised to 3.65 after first semester
SAT- 1250
ECs: National honors math society, FBLA, BBall for 3 years, Track for 1 year, Job at restaurant for 2 years
Very nervous
Forgot to add that I am a Black male, first generation from WPHS( A school in NOVA)

Yea, that’s a huge improvement. Also, given that you have achieved such great GPAs in junior and senior years with a total of 12 AP courses in two years, you will be impressed by not just VT reps, but also by many other college reps, despite being considered a URM. But I’m assuming you have explained why you had low GPA in ninth grade when filling out your college application; otherwise, that low GPA will might have a negative impact on you (also not enough to compensate for your great GPAs in the following three years).
What other schools have you applied to? Apparently, VT seems to be a piece of cake for you!
