Hi, I am a high school student and have been doing electronics since I was 7, but now we are done with that bit of background information here are my stats:
SAT:
Math:755
English:730
Extracurricular:
CCNA Certified
FIRST Robotics Team Captain/Project manager
SeaPerch president (resigned this year)
FIRST Robotics Alumni
GPA: 3.7
courseload senior year:
AP Calc AB
AP Chem
AP Physics Calc based
Dual Enrollment Gov and English
Honors Spanish 4 (Also have four years of spanish since freshman)
Robotics
Electronics II
Based on that information what do you guys think are my chances? My GPA will definitely change due to so many AP classes. But I think I have a strong chance based on my love for electrical engineering and the fact I do it at home. For example I have a home lab with oscope, multimeter, soldering iron, custom watercooled PC, two 3D printers. My second question is how can I tell VT admissions all of that to show them my love for EE and that I have a massive headstart on my career? The reason I mentioned the home lab is because I think it showcases how much I love doing EE and technical related stuff. I am also Cisco Certified Network Associate which in DC they make $90,000 a year. I think that will also look really good to them. Thanks for your help! I hope I can get in.
