VT Or Clemson?

I absolutely cannot choose!
i am not instate for either by the way...

however, i do want to eventually transfer into their architecture department but I dont know if i would be able to do that...

note from VT admission officer:
I afraid we will not be entertaining any change requests for restricted majors, like architecture, until after May 15. Unfortunately, it is unlikely that even after that date we will be able to change anyone into a restricted major. If you would like to make your request after May 15, please do so by emailing me.

note from Clemson Admissions officer:
Unfortunately, even if we are able to bring you in off of our wait list, the Architecture program is full. We do fill up that particular major in February when the initial round of students are accepted. It is one of our most competitive majors and fills up rather quickly. If you are accepted, you can stay in undecided or move to something else and still hope to transfer to Architecture at a later time.

(i was just accepted into clemson today)

can anyone help?!
any and all advice would be appreciated

If you want to do architecture, I would pick Clemson just for the slight chance that you can transfer into it (a slim chance is better than none).

What would be your second choice major? Are there any other schools you got accepted to that are going to let you do architecture?

Hi kelsey,

transferring into VT architecture is extremely hard. You apply to CAUS as an internal transfer the first day of spring semester and if you are accepted, you must take two sessions of summer school design studio. They then review your work to see if you are to be placed in year one or year two of the program. You could also be denied a spot after the summer school sessions. See this link below.

If you are only going to pick VT based on the arch transfer factor alone, I would go with Clemson. Tech offers a 5 yr BARCH, Clemson a 4 yr B. A. in Arch. You will be at VT a minimum of 5 years and two summer sessions if you transfer into CAUS and they allow you into the second year of arch, 6 years and two summer sessions if you are put back as a first year Arch student.

If you like Tech for other reasons as well…then you have more of a decision I think. They are both such nice schools and very comparable in many ways although I will say Clemson, SC probably has better weather more often than Blacksburg, VA! :)

Hope this helps some! Good luck in your decision.
