I have been accepted to both Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech. I am having trouble even leaning towards one school over the other. For me, as a Virginia resident, Virginia Tech is cheaper, but I have looked at the USNWR and seen that Georgia Tech is ranked higher. I would like to know what will be the difference in job/internship opportunities, and would one college be preferred over the other if my end goal (other than starting a career) is to attend MIT for grad school (did not apply for undergrad).

Both schools have http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/internships-careers-employment/1121619-university-graduate-career-surveys-4.html , but VT’s provides more detail.

Can you afford Georgia Tech?

I am still waiting on the details of my financial aid and scholarships I applied for.

More input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Until you know whether GT is affordable, there’s no point deliberating whether you ought to go there. Did you receive the extra information yet?

To put it plainly, if I want to go to Georgia Tech, I can afford it, but I would like to know if it would be a good investment or would Virginia Tech have the same caliber of program for a better price.

By the way, I am doing Aerospace Engineering.

Since you have such a specific major, you probably should ask both departments and both career centers about job placement.

For your major the ranking of the university doesn’t matter. Perception of that department within that professional field is what counts.

Does anyone know the perceptions of the departments?

FWIW: [Aerospace / Aeronautical / Astronautical | Rankings | US News](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/engineering-doctorate-aerospace-aeronautical-astronautical)

Thank you, but I was looking for something other than the usnwr. Any employer surveys of where they recruit from? Btw, I already looked at the wsj. Thanks.

I work, and part-time recruit, at a major aerospace company. While GaTech may be slightly higher ranked, we recruit at both schools equally, and there is no real advantage either way.

Thank you that information is very helpful. Does anyone have any information about graduate school opportunities?
