Hello, my name is Alex and I am currently looking into becoming either a mechanical or aerospace engineer. The deadlines to accept a college is rapidly approaching, and I am currently left with 2 schools, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. I know GT's outstanding engineering program but am uncertain if it outweighs VT tremendously. Heres some background:
My family will be moving to Birmingham, AB once summer 08 is over (2 hour drive to GT, 7 hour drive to VT)
I didn't feel fully comfortable on GT's campus, but my dad and I had just driven down from PA with only 3 hours of sleep, with it raining outside. So this might just be due to how I physically and mentally felt. I loved VT's campus, and with the incentive of it having #1 food out of all the universities thats just pleasing in itself.
NASA is one of my goals, but that can change hehe

I am honestly split down the middle. I love GT's recognized program, but I loved VT's campus and location. Will the title of having gone to GT be that much of an advantage in getting a good job, let alone one with NASA? Will GT be that much more difficult given its outstanding rankings in the engineering community?

Penn State Main is also another consideration, but I personally have it lower on the list. However, it does cost 25k a year (compared to GT's fixed 35k and VT's variable 33k)
