Hi all,

Essays: I have been told I’m an excellent writer and have done my best to make my essays reflect my passion, enthusiasm, and character while retaining humility. I have been fortunate enough to have a good friend who is an English major and spent much of her professional life critiquing writing review my essays and polish them a bit so I think they are very strong.
Letters of Recommendation:
APUSH teacher: She offered and I did well in her class and had a great rapport with her so it should be good.
Employer at a small business music store: I have worked there since I was a freshman and he is w&m alumni and would have nothing but good things to say for me.
Other employer, practicing attorney and I am secretary/receptionist at his firm: I have been dedicated to his business for the last year and formed a pretty good relationship with him but it’s purely professional and I don’t know specific his recommendation would be.
Owner of art gallery I volunteer with: I have read it and it was extremely kind and generous.
Producer of local opera I volunteer with (she used to be a professor at w&m in the department I am looking to study with): should be good as I have made a name for myself in her organization and know her personally
Counselor Rec: She doesn’t know me that well but the form she had me fill out was elaborate and I’m a stellar student so I can’t imagine she would have anything contrary to say.

Let me know what you think … i feel like i have a bit of a unique application which may work to either an advantage or disadvantage. Because of my type of schooling I’ve had a lot more spare time to be involved in my community while still taking advanced courses and I describe how this has grown me in my essays. I have also done a lot to show my interest in the school by signing for the newsletter, attending a tour, interviewing (which went really great!) And shadowing a student. I’ve also spoken to and met in person with my admissions officer, the person who handles the JDP program, as well as the chairman of the Classics department, and sat in on some classes there that I describe in my JDP essay. My sat score is easily the weakest part of my application and I have already signed up for the November sat that I will send as soon as possible but because of that I am conflicted as to whether I should apply ED1 on Nov 1st and send the scores immediately or wait until ED2 and also do the December test. Because I don’t go to a brick and mortar school I don’t have any general club or sports activities or named “leadership” positions but I’ve done my best to convey that I have lead by example in my community in other ways. Let me know what your thoughts are
