W&M Class of 2023 RD

Doesn’t seem like there’s a centralized post for RD yet. Good luck everyone

When have they historically released RD announcements?

Some exceptional students get a postcard around the beginning of Feb hinting at admission.
I have the date as 3/23 via email, but I don’t remember how I arrived at that conclusion!

My DD never got a postcard but did get admitted so don’t worry if you don’t get a postcard. The results were emailed last year on March 23rd. If your email subject is Good things you got in and if the subject is admission decision they you are denied or waitlisted. People receive their emails at different times so you sometimes have to wait a bit. Looking at email my daughter got her email at 515pm but some didn’t get there email until 10pm.

Has anyone received the likely postcard yet? They should start sending them soon…

I think that they started sending them the first Friday of Feb last year someone out there might be seeing one soon!

DD got her post card today.

@Hokiesunshine where do you guys live?

Woo hoo! Just pulled up informed delivery and there’s a postcard coming here today too!!!

From NJ and received my cypher postcard today…

Congratulations to those receiving postcards! Do you mind posting stats?

@portalupdateplz S19 is OOS. NMF, 1540 SAT, 3.85 uw/4.75 weighted GPA. Seven APs all fives so far. BC Calc last year and multivariable this year so advanced in math but all honors and AP in all subjects. Three season athlete (XC, track), Scholastic Art Award winner for paintings and sent portfolio to schools. Leadership in clubs at school as well as in our community. Soccer reffing job. The W&M postcard had a comment about his CA essay. We do think it was particularly interesting and just talks about friendship and its importance to him. He didn’t try to sell himself in that essay, just tried to show who he is.

I got a postcard! I live in CT. My GPA is around a 4.4 and a 1500 SAT. I go to a competitive school and took almost all honors/AP classes. I think my essay is probably what helped my application. Has anyone who has gotten a postcard not gotten in (under normal circumstances, not like they ended up in prison or something)?

Congratulations to the postcard recipients! My daughter has been VERY happy at W&M so far. Loves her classes, dormmates, activities, campus. Absolutely no regrets.

Just received a postcard in VA and am beyond excited! Stats for anyone who was wondering: 35 ACT, 4.47 GPA. Also involved in a decent amount of extracurriculars (varsity sports, volunteering, peer tutoring, Girl Scouts).

Got the postcard today! 1560 SAT 4.0/4.7 lots of leadership and EC etc…

DS got postcard today! OOS, 3.9/4.4 GPA, 33 ACT, lots of APs mostly 5s, rigorous courseload at competitive private high school, summer job and ECs revolved around a subject area of interest, legacy (law) and attended legacy weekend. Frankly I thought essays a bit ‘meh’ but postcard referred to the supplemental essay, so maybe I’m a bit harsh. ? Very thrilled! Glad my alma mater does these postcards; it really helps to get the good news earlier so some planning and decisionmaking can commence.
