Thank you admissions committee!!!

I just got in as well!

I didn’t receive it…meaning I got rejected?
Congrats to who got in though…

I don’t think it means that at all. I read that last year 30% of admitted students hear back early while the rest hear back a few days later. It might just be that our applications were read earlier?

Maybe W&M Admissions can explain it better or offer some insight, but I really don’t think it means that you were denied!

@2013Transfer, thanks a lot. Your words make me feel better…

I just got accepted as well. Do you know when we might get our financial aid awards and credit evaluation? Good luck to everyone else who are still waiting for the decision. :D

Got my acceptance email! they said they are going to email financial aid awards within the next week I think so excited was not expecting to hear back this soon haha

It looks like most of these admitted students are out of state, with the exception of maybe one. Maybe W&M went through the OOS students first?

Also, has anyone heard anything from admissions besides their confirmation email and acceptance email?

We released some transfer acceptances today to both in-state and out-of-state applicants. This is a small cohort of our admitted transfer cohorts. We still have the bulk of our transfer decisions to release and those include admits, waitlists and denies. Those who are admitted should hear from Financial Aid via email in the next 7 business days or so. Transfer credit evaluations do not begin until this summer.

Congrats to @Peachtree123, @2013Transfer, @shadowcat2, and @Heartgirl1.

@WMAdmission

Oh my goodness, I was not expecting for decisions to be released until the end of the month. Does this mean that decisions are going to trickle out until May 1st?

@W&M Admission, thanks.

@W&M Admissions thank you so much! William & Mary has already made me feel so welcome, I really appreciate it :)

@hopefulhippo, no. We’ll have one more release date for all remaining applicants. Not sure yet when that date will be but we’ll be sure to update people.

Oh, if there is only one more batch out then I can wait. I was just worried because some schools were sending out tentative dates or were inconsistent with their dates–basically playing cat and mouse. Thank you! W&M is my first pick and I’ve been waiting 2 years to reapply. If not now…I guess I can try grad school. Third time’s the charm…

Just got a “Good News” email, so I assume everyone has been notified by now? So unbelievably elated!

Can someone accepted post their stats if they wouldn’t mind? Major/GPA?

I’m a transfer student from NVCC with a 3.8 GPA and just finished getting my Associates in Business Administration.

Major at W&M will probably be Economics with a minor in accounting.

Congrats! You think I’d be able to have a chance with a 3.65?

Jimmyrussell,

Thank you! I am super excited and worked extremely hard for this.

I need to know a little bit more about you though before I can answer your question. Are you transferring from a Virginia community college? If so I HIGHLY recommend applying with the guaranteed admissions agreement. A girl in my statistics class applied to W&M with a 4.0 and got rejected. Her grades were more impressive than mine. I believe she lacked any kind of work experience, took easy classes, or only had a semester of a 4.0 GPA. She simply said she had a 4.0 and got rejected to me so unfortunately I do not know the details.

When I went to the transfer orientation/welcome day they told us that roughly 1,000 transfer students applied and that roughly 200 got in.
