Hi everyone!

There are 3 days left but I still don't know where I am going. I am mostly comparing between William and Mary and University of Rochester. I got 8000 from Rochester and nothing from W&M.They are both ranked 33 by U.S. news. I personally like W&M more because it's the second oldest school, very very pretty and has a good reputation. I think I will enjoy here and develop better here. But my parents have been saying that I should think about majors as well. I plan on majoring in Accounting, possibly double major in Finance or International Affairs or Classics(I know its kinda unusual). So because some people my parents know have been saying that Rochester's business school is better and accounting major is better, therefore I should choose U Rochester...

Also, I was also accepted by UIUC, Villanova, and Drexel. UIUC's accounting major is ranked number 2, Villanova is a Catholic school and pretty, and Drexel has an excellent co-op program. Also, I have 10,000 to Drexel, 6000 to Villanova and none to UIUC. And I am still waiting on a full ride to Drexel. If I do get a full ride to Drexel, I think I might just go there to relieve the financial difficulties.

But still, I think my heart is still going toward W&M. However, in the meantime, I feel the need to consider about getting a job in the future while getting a good education.

So, which school should I choose?

Thank you so much for the time and help!

Isn’t the W&M undergrad accounting program itself highly ranked? [William & Mary School of Business - Accounting Programs Ranked #1 ? again](http://mason.wm.edu/news/2011/par_ranking21jan11.php) According to Public Accounting Report’s Annual Survey, it’s recently been first in its category, which supposedly is largely determined by the size of the department faculty, and is ranked in the top 25 overall.

Also, doesn’t the annual $8K from Rochester bring the annual cost of attendance there ($58K tuition, fees, room and board) close to but still more than the annual OOS cost at W&M (about $48K for the same factors - not counting books or travel for either).

As to getting an accounting job - I think much of that will depend on where you want to live after school. If you’re from NY and want to return, you’ll make more valuable contacts at Rochester than at W&M. If you’re from PA, Drexel and Villanova will help you establish better employment prospects in that area.

W&M is a great school, absolutely worth the cost if it’s possible to swing financially. It seems as if all your choices are in the same financial ballpark?

Thank you so much for our information and advice.
I am not sure where I wan to live after school. I am living in PA now and I am from China. So I guess any major city will be fine for me. And I actually am considering involving in politics or international affairs after I settle down, like getting a job as CPA or forensic accounting, so I think it’s even better if I live closer to D.C.
I’m pretty sure I’m going to go for w&m now, just that I appealed for a full ride to Drexel. So I’m not sure if I sure if I should go to Drexel for free or go to w&m in debt, if I do get full ride, or 3/4 to Drexel.

Thanks so much again!

W&M>>>>>UofR, esp in Jan/Feb :)
