Hey guys,

So far, I've gotten into both the College of William and Mary and Boston University.

I would like to get some general opinions on the pros and cons of each school and which you guys think would be best for me.

I'm a pretty ambitious student who wants to eventually go to a top law school. I'm looking for a college with strong academics but also with a lot of opportunities (study abroad, internships, research).

I plan on majoring in either Economics or Business (finance, or business administration) or double majoring/minoring/concentrations.

I plan to work hard and excel wherever I go, but where do you guys think would be best suited for me to reach my goals?

Thanks in advance for your help and comments!

Congrats on the acceptances! They’re both great schools, but very very different. Have you visited both?

BU is a much larger school and doesn’t really have a campus. It’s literally on the street (Commonwealth Ave to be specific) in Boston! Boston is an amazing college town, and BU is near very nice parts of the city. So if you’re really a city person, you’d love it. Conversely, W&M is much smaller, more liberal-arts college feel, and has a beautiful campus! In general, the community may feel more close-knit at W&M because at BU, a lot of my friends who have attended say that most of the nightlife/social aspect is in the city. As for feel, it really comes down to if you have a preference to the city or a smaller school in a colonial town.

Academically, they’re both amazing, so you can’t go wrong in that sense :)

I am personally biased to William and Mary as I will be attending next year, but have spent much of my life in Boston. I can see why someone would choose to attend BU!
