"w"

Hello every one:

I am an Electrical Enginering major and so far I have 3 "W"s, 4.0 Gpa of major and 3.92 overal GPA. I still have four more major class to take. I am willing to apply to UCLA and I am wondering if my Ws are gonna hurt me or not. The other cquestion is that I want to take one of my classes which I got "W" in, in another community college. Is this going to look bad for admission people (thinking that "the guy took the class in another place to get A instead of a low grade?").

Thank You All

i had 7 W’s GPA of 3.9 but most of my w’s were non transferable … but i made sure that i did not get any w’s after those and my grade trend was more upward and also when i got those w’s i was working 60 hours a week and doing school full time. so if you can show positive reasons why you have the w’s and make sure you don’t get any more w’s and maintain a high GPA you will be fine.

I have 14 W’s and got accepted into Bioengineering:Biotech at UCSD. Its really not a big deal, just write a blurb about it in your application.

Also, it looks good when you retake the class (the admissions people have no way to tell if you dropped the class 2 weeks in or 2 months).

ooops forgot to mention i got into UCSD UCLA and UCD and waiting on CAL
my stats :
3.9 gpa
7 w’s
good EC
TAP with CAL
excellent personal statement explaining my w’s during my early years at community college
 hopefully tomorrow i bleed blue and gold !

all UC’s are blue and gold.

but what about me taking the course I got “W” in in another community college?

On the sticky faq on this site, says W’s don’t matter (applying to UC’s). I’m pretty sure it doesn’t also but it might affect you when you apply to grad school+med/law school though if you plan on doing that.
