w00t another schedule thread

w00t! its another schedule thread! How exciting!
So how does this junior year schedule look?
- Am. Lit regular*
- AP Bio
- AP Calc BC
- AP Japanese
- AP US History
- Journalism (Hopefully)
- Psychology (local cc)
* Lit AP not offered, there is lit honors. However, I have been told to avoid APUSH + LitH

Also in case if I dont get into journalism, which of these courses should I take? Or maybe have a free period and get more sleep?
- Physics (local cc, will require work)
- Shell Progamming (local cc, Im doing ok in APCS(JAVA) this year)
- Anatomy/Physiology (local cc, iono, maybe related to AP bio?)
- Weight training (build up some muscles to woo girls XP)
- Nothing (get more beauty sleep :])

Any intelligent ideas/comments?

ps. local cc accepts high school students on space aviliability

argargargaraggaraargaraggarararg
bump

not enough honors classes. take o -chem at CC and forget journalism.

not enough honors classes. take o -chem at CC and forget journalism.

Journalism is only worth it if 1) it’s a school newspaper and 2) you get leadership.
Or 3) you’re interested. But that’s a decision that you’ll have to make on your own.
I would take Physics instead of Journalism, and take Lit H with APUSH.
Didn’t kill me. And I took AP Lang.

Take Physics Honors at school, not at CC. Junior year is not a time to get lazy.

I’m pretty interested in journalism (school news paper, won some national award recently). According to friends its a fun adn worth while class :] (but lots of work too)

school doesnt allow double sciences
so why physics? Is it THAT important/fun/useful?

and and btw I dont think I can handle physics + LitH (I’m foreign born, came to US in 6th grade. English skills average-ish)

Phys/Anat will help with the Bio AP exam, but it is a lot of work and a lot of memorizing.
I recommend the free 1st!

Wow I’ve been on CC a while but it still surprises me when a schedule like this is criticized for not being difficult enough…

You seem to write and comprehend the language well enough. Just because someone didn’t have a good experience taking both Honors Lit and APUSH doesn’t mean you can’t handle it. Unless they each have 6 hours of homework every night then you’re basically comparing apples to oranges. If the Honors Lit gets you more GPA points then you should definitely consider taking it for rank.

How many periods do you have to fill? I’m not clear if your college classes are held at school during school hours or they are night classes. IMO, you’d do better scheduling everything during regular school hours.

It’s always good to have one fun class and if that’s journalism then go for it. Can you use it for your ECs? Awards always look good on college apps.

Are you sure the Psychology is a full year? Most are only one semester. What would you take the second semester?

Check out whether the Anatomy is needed for your college degree plan. If it isn’t, don’t take it.

Have you completed your PE credits? If not, then take the weight training.

Something to consider - if there’s a class you want to take your senior year but it’s only offered one or two periods, you should think about trying to take it this year. If you don’t get it this year, at least you’ll have a second chance at it next year. If you wait until next year, you might not get it at all.

HTH

update:

 • gave up on journalism
 • applyed psych this summer
 • physics (local cc) during school year (3 quarters)

w00t! its another schedule thread! How exciting!
So how does this junior year schedule look?

 • Am. Lit regular*
 • AP Bio
 • AP Calc BC
 • AP Japanese (aka Study Hall)
 • AP US History
 • Physics 4A,B,C(local CC)
 • Lit AP not offered, there is lit honors, which prepares the students for the AP test, but for some reason its not considered as an AP class.

As for time, I will try to make all my 5 HS classses in the morning, so I can go home during lunch, get some beauty sleep, and then go to cc class in the afternoon/evening.

Any intelligent ideas/comments?

take college lit. take advanced engineering physics. take calc over summer and do multivariable or differential at college.

dont have too many high school classes.
