Wagner College -- looking for input please

Wondering if anyone is familiar with Wagner College in the Staten Island area. My daughter likes the NYC area, and wants to focus on foreign language study? Want to make sure it is not a suitcase school etc.
Thanks.

It's a little bit of both, but the campus definitely does not empty out on the weekends. It's a lovely school in a gorgeous area. Known to be generous with money, particularly for non-local students. It's a quick trip to Manhattan, but definitely a campus -- one of the most beautiful in the country. It is very homogeneous, but NYC is not, so . . . If you have any specific questions, come on back!

Very nice campus. Lots of trees and quaint buildings. Plenty of students live on campus. Close proximity to Manhattan.

If your daughter goes there, make sure she uses the tennis courts! They really have some of the most beautiful courts I've ever seen. Surrounded by trees with a great view of the city.

I live about 5 minutes away from it, so I can comment on the neighborhood, appearance, etc.

As others have said, it's really got the best of both worlds in regards to campus: a beautiful, social campus, and Manhattan just about 40 minutes away (car + ferry).

To be honest, there's not too much to do in the surrounding neighborhood (it's basically a blue-collar residential one, though with more ethnic diversity than most of the rest of Staten Island) other than a lovely park and some decent restaurants, but it's definitely more quiet and safe than much of the rest of the city.

Exclusive of college housing, Grymes Hill is not blue-collar by any stretch of the imagination.

^Not Grymes Hill, but the neighborhood when you drive down by the main entrance (I don't remember what it's called).

Sunnyside. The rest of the area is filled with well, frankly, mansions and other beautiful homes. But Teenage-cliche is right in that the immediate area has absolutely nothing to do.
