Wagner College MT audition invitations 2018

@delta215 Sorry! We have almost 2 feet of snow about an hour east of Wagner. My S has had 2 performances of their spring musical cancelled! Gonna be a busy weekend for his voice with the reschedules…

Good luck with the musical, ours was last weekend. Will reschedule our visit for maybe Tuesday or 4/5. We are 1 1/2 hrs east of Wagner.

@delta215 congrats on the posts! We will be there 4/5, so lmk. And thanks, looking forward to seeing his play.

Lauren (freshman MT) is training to be a tour guide for next year. She is tagging a long on several of the tours. If there is a freshman MT tour guide named Lauren, that is my girl! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me!

Great, we will look for Lauren when we go. Most likely on 4/5 when we have break. We had another snow day today and my daughter really doesn’t want to miss another day of school. (14 post

We are visiting Wagner on 4/5. My daughter is very excited and so am I

@smeaglemom Congrats on your S choosing Wagner! Are you planning to attend student for a day or Admitted students day? Two of us have kids going on 4/5 for student day.

@jeanetteschneider for your questions, @LBSMOM has D at Wagner. A few of us have been discussing the program on this thread.

@smeaglemom Are you all planning to visit Accepted Student Day on Saturday? We are and @delta215 will be there. This is the last piece, hoping it gives him the confidence to move forward with a decision!

Anyone still following this thread?!? S is committed to Wagner class of 2022!! Was wondering if any current/future parents are interested in a FB Wagner College Theater Parents page (or just Parents page)??

@"#booknerdmom" Congrats to S and welcome to the Seahawks family! I hope he loves it as much as my d loves it! you can add me to a private Wag Parent FB page Kim Delibertis-Bergen is my name on FB.

Hi, i still follow thread. I dont have facebook, but maybe i shoukd. Kim, we briefly met Lauren at accepted students day, she is lovely! My daughter is sooo excited to go to Wagner. We saw Hair last week, they were fantadtic!!!

@delta215 congrats on D becoming a Seahawk! So glad you got to meet Lauren! She LOVES Wagner - except this week, when she is stressed over finals, auditions, a recital - just finished teching Hair and play rehearsals. But she wouldn’t trade any of that in for anything else. She is doing what she loves.

My son is a junior and I have been following this thread. Congratulations to the new Seahawk MTs! We are seriously considering Wagner and I am interested in what made you choose Wagner over other programs? TIA!

My daughter is an incoming freshman. She was looking for BA theatre program. She is hoping to possibly double major or minor in business or teaching. She wanted to be very close to Manhattan, but loved the idea of a campus. She loved the audition process and was able to meet faculty and theatre students. She just felt it was a perfect fit for her.

@NYKaren WELCOME! My D is a current freshman Theatre Performance major at Wagner. To be honest, it wasn’t even on her original list when she was auditioning back in Winter of 2017. She had some plan B options for Arts Administration and I insisted we visit Wagner. At the time all she wanted was BOCO - so everything else was secondary. I can tell you as soon as we pulled into the parking lot she was just like - “oh, hey, this is nice”! We had a great tour of the campus and were able to chat with some theatre students. We met with an adviser who told D she had to be accepted academically first and she should absolutely audition for the program (because if accepted, she was already in for AA). D never really got caught up on BFA vs BA. I can also tell you that on second visits for auditions at some of the schools she liked, she left with different feelings. For example, she absolutely did not like the process at BW and said after her audition that she didn’t see herself there - same thing with Hartt. She did like that both schools were a traditional campus. The day after our visit at Wagner she said to me “Mom, I want to go there, whether I get into the TP program or not”. That kind of sealed the deal. She loved the campus, the proximity to NYC and the people she talked to in the program. Now that she is there she is “with her people”. She loves the program, she takes full advantage of being close to the city taking extra dance classes at BDC and fun classes like stage combat. Everyone is very accessible and helpful and they want the students to be successful. I have seen a lot of growth in her this year and I know that my girl is happy, which makes me happy too!

FYI - there is a Wagner College Theatre page on FB - you just have to ask to join. Its a good page to keep up with all things theatre at Wag.

@LBSMOM Hi there. I’ve been away for awhile but would absolutely like to be part of a Facebook group. Please message me the name of the group so I can find you on Facebook. We didn’t go to accepted students day because my S was in dress rehearsals for spring musical but he has been there twice and loved it. Hoping to meet other parents at move-in.

Hi, I haven’t joined the parent Facebook page yet, but my daughter is part of a accepted student Facebook page with a group of theatre students. Is your son on that?
