Any of you're waitlisted from Lawrence and Grinell?

I am wait listed in Grinnell. But I have very little hope of getting off the waitlist. Will know by mid may I think…

Friends ,do everybody share where are you waitlisted in?
Lets share our feelings and anxiety with each other.

@bibesh. Can you mention any other colleges in which you’ve been waitlisted?
You can put your hope in Grinell bro :)

@sashibasnet: did you mean Lawrence University or St. Lawrence College? If it is Lawrence Uni, I know somebody who has been accepted but will not be attending in favor of another college. So you might just get accepted off the waiting list.

Erm, the guy who got into Grinnell is attending. So there is no hope for it because its policy is only one Nepali per year with aid.

Is it so? I found out that Grinnell accepted 3 Nepalese students last year. I don’t think other 2 Nepalese attended Grinnell without any aid. Hoping for the best n prepared for the worst…

It’s evident that you are speculating. One Nepali was accepted from Nepal (she is the one who received aid), and the other two Nepalis were accepted in RD and both of them went to high school in India (Kodi?) - I know of both of them. Only one of those two ultimately enrolled, and she is paying full (I think the other person went to Yale). 1 person from Nepal per year with aid. You can ask the admissions office.

Sorry to say, but no one is getting into Grinnell from the waiting list. That is only activated when there is no Nepali in the class year.

Oh thats sad then…

Even though I did not apply Grinell, this is the response from Grinell’s admission officer on query about Admission statistics from Nepal last year. I got this email around early December.

Another disappointment then…Thats cool…Lets see what life has in store for me…

It is true that there is one Special International Scholarship for Nepal which is awarded to one admitted student each year and meets 100% of that students demonstrated need. Other Nepalese students are admitted, however and do receive financial aid awards. Those awards to not meet 100% of demonstrated financial need, but rather between 75-85%.

Perhaps, but that has never happened (unless you can point out evidence to the contrary) except before the special scholarships were initiated. If you find out who’s at Grinnell right now, you’ll see that there are only three or four Nepalis there with aid (in the entire student body), while the rest are on full pay.

Lets hope for the best…If the admission office says so may be it’s possible…But I know that the chances are extremely slim…

Just heard from a Grinnell student that another Nepali in India was also admitted. Full pay. Attending.

Bad news…Now the hope shifts towards kenyon…

@vivaciousakrish: are you the one who is going to Grinnell?

I am quite sure he is not.

Would have been more specific if that had been the case, haha.

Who else got waitlisted by Connecticut and Skidmore?

St.Olaf is too early to respond on wait list status.
