Wait..... 6 Classes?

<p>How is it possible that some users here only take 5-6 classes in high school?
In my school, minimum is 10!</p>

<p>So that being said, will my 12 APs in one year look bad?</p>

<p>Anything less than 45 APs in a year looks pretty bad…, so 12 per year is miserable.</p>

<p>I’m confused. 10 classes, each for (assuming) 40 minutes = 400 minutes = 6hr + 40 minutes + at least 5 mins break between = 400 + 90 minutes + 40 minutes lunch = 530 minute school day = nearly 9 hours of school. Assuming school starts at 8, it means you go home at 5? </p>

<p>My school has 8 periods a day, 40 minutes each. We have 6 courses, actually, not including Life Issues and study hall.</p>

<p>What’s your purpose in asking this question? If we told you that, yes, it looked bad, are you going to drop 5 courses so you’re more “on par” with other applicants?</p>

I hope I speak for the majority of CC users when I say that the average high achieving student would take 5-7 APs in a year. What high school do you attend that lets you take that many courses??</p>

I love Government APs and Human Geography seemed very interesting.
And useful knowledge, too</p>
