I am an OOS applicant and I have been waitlisted. Does anyone have any statistics from past years on numbers that have been accepted from the waitlist and perhaps the breakdown that is specific to OOS applicants?

Hi there,
Thanks for your thoughtful response. I did some digging and now have some historical data to share. Last year (2011), we offered 2,017 students a place on the waitlist. 1,044 students accepted our offer, and 187 were eventually admitted. The year before, we did go a bit deeper to the waitlist: we offered 2,259 students a place on the waitlist, 1,117 accepted, and 486 were admitted.

This year, we’ve offered a waitlist position to 2,928 students. We had an increase in applications, most likely due to the fact that this was our first year with the Common Application. We don’t know yet how much our yield will change this year, and so we did decide to keep a slightly larger waitlist.

We won’t know until late May how many, if any, spaces we’ll have available for waitlist candidates, but we’ll do our best to notify students as soon as we can.

Again, we’re sorry we haven’t yet been able to give you a final decision. Whether or not you decide to join the waiting list, we wish you the best!"
