wait-list acceptances

Collegesgirl…did you decide on Dartmouth, then, or did you get a call from Princeton? Both Amherst and Dartmouth are great schools – you can’t go wrong with either! Good luck! Only a “few” got off Dartmouth’s list…you must be elated.

@KeepHopeAlive, thanks! that wasn’t the number (big surprise haha)

an interesting Yale Waitlist story:

[Crestview HS senior earns a free ride to Yale | school, senior, yale - News - Crestview News Bulletin](http://www.crestviewbulletin.com/news/school-10131-senior-yale.html)

Thanks for sharing the article, JohnAdams. It was really touching. His stats were very, very impressive, and he clearly is qualified and deserving of a spot. He took a big chance and did something creative (can often backfire, though, from what I’ve read). He must be thrilled (as my daughter would be if only Princeton were to call:)

what ever happened to the kid on the Princeton waitlist that organized a school event for 300 students to rally for his potential acceptance?

I believe that the article was posted on this thread

anyone else gotten any calls?

JohnAdams, i believe i know who you are talking about, and so far I think he’s still on the waitlist. I’m in the same position as he is. I’m on the waitlist for Princeton but I’ve been accepted to UChicago like him and on fb he’s set his university to UChicago

Two weeks until the end, my friends. For better or for worse, let’s accept the universities that have been so gracious as to offer us a path to the future. Let’s take this passion that we’re sure made us Tigers of Princeton and bring it there. Let’s make a difference, prove them wrong, and show them the fire we have in us.

We’ve all heard it before – it doesn’t matter what university or college you go to; you’re the one that brings it to the table. You may be going to your second choice, third choice, maybe even further (I know I am). But. Don’t let that stop you in your push for success. All of the people that I’ve had the privilege to meet on this board are brilliant, true torches for our future. Regardless of the decision made, we will continue to shine.

Thank you.

aw thanks computergeek173!
good luck to you all, i know you’re off to do great things no matter where you end up going!! :)

Just heard that kid from our school got off the waitlist this week, so it’s still moving.

To computergeek.

My sister went to Rice and loved every minute. Rice has a more fully developed residential college system than Princeton has today. Rice used to call itself the Princeton of the South. Rice has the same small university atmosphere as Princeton. You will enjoy your college experience at Rice.

Thanks  That’s very reassuring! ^_^

What is considered late breaking news and exactly how do you send it in?

Well, news that came after the waitlist was announced… and it’s probably a little late for that.

I think it’s never too late to send late breaking news, but you have to be careful because Princeton does not welcome people who pester them with excessive emails and/or phone calls if those communications do not add really important or different information to what is already in the applicant’s file. If you decide to go ahead, I would suggest three options for communicating the information: 1) fax it in a letter to (609) 258-6743; 2) ask your college counselor to send it to your Princeton regional admission officer; or 3) email it yourself to your regional admission officer if you have his/her name and email address (your college counselor may know it).

P.S. to my above post (#316), which was a reply to CrimsonFuture:

Of course after June 30 it will be too late, as that is when the Ivy League are concluding their waitlist process for this year.

Hi guys! Just to let you know, I received a call from Princeton last week (Wed. June 22) that I was accepted off the waitlist, but I have decided to decline their offer of admission and will be going to Yale (where I was also accepted off the waitlist). Good luck to anyone waiting (I may have just freed up another spot for you!), and congrats to all admittees.

Thanks, Dan92, for letting us know. Wow! What good fortune you’ve had! Best of luck to you at Yale.

Thank you, Dan92. It is encouraging that there is still a little bit of movement even at this late date. Could you please clarify for us whether Princeton called you on Wed. June 16 or Tues. June 22 (so we have an idea how recent this movement was)? Thanks!

@jc40 - Thanks!
@KeepHopeAlive - Oops! My bad - they contacted me on Wed. June 16th, not the 22nd. Wow, I must have been really tired last night!
