wait-list acceptances

@adaa: Mail as in letter mail or email mail? And the ‘small number’, does that refer to all waitlistees in general or just international students?

Hey illation, sorry should have specified it was an e-mail…a reply to an old old e-mail of mine, which i think i’d sent the first week of april haha…talk about delay!
I think they meant in general, otherwise they would have specified

Has anybody gotten off the princeton waitlist since Wednesday?

@adaa: Ouch. Small number indeed. Our chances just dropped dramatically. ._.

To those of you who got off the waitlist, how and when are you informing the college where you previously accepted/deposited?

Also, will Princeton be sending official notification of enrollment? No deposit was required when replying to the waitlist acceptance, so it still feels a bit unreal. I’d hate for my D to withdraw from her current school before everything is official.

I’m going to have her call admissions when she gets home today to ask all of this, but I thought I’d ask here in case anyone knows.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to get off the waitlist.

^No deposit was required to accept a regular decision offer of admission either:)

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this and actually searched CC to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

So far the only confirmation we have received from the University is the email my son got the day after he accepted his spot. That was 11 days ago.

Princeton 2014 yield rate?

14 waitlist acceptances posted in this thread. Looks like, Princeton 2014 yield rate is low, may be in low 50s.

Yeah. I think there was a lot of cross-applying this year, so yields in general are low. I know from my school that only 8/21 people matriculated to princeton.

I called the admissions office today, and i think they were trying to tell me that the number of students in the second wave depends on how many people don’t matriculate from the first wave. How many people do you think princeton will admit in the second wave and when do you think it will be?

In the low 50’s? That might be a little low, man, even if there are a few on here.

@Illation: “… only 8/21 people matriculated to princeton.” 21 kids got accepted to Pton at your school this year?! What kind of school do you go to?

@mrscollege: I go to TJHSST. Unfortunately, since we’re a science and technology school, Princeton didn’t take a single humanities-oriented student this year–we were all waitlisted. .___.

haha I KNEW you went to tjhsst. of course. best public school. ok. pointless post. I am still waiting like a mother.

^I think we’re all waiting desperately. I keep having these nightmares that I’m pretty sure deal with not knowing about Pton’s final decision on me until August or something equally ridiculous. -shudders- I hate waiting. So much suspense!

Does Princeton has a country based quota system for accepting applicants. I mean that only 2 people were accepted from our country and 1 of them denied the offer (she is going to MIT by the way). I am the only one waitlisted. So, am I in a good position to be accepted from the wait-list??..:-[…(I desperately hope I am)

why are they saying different things to different people :frowning: they told me that the number they’re taking off the waitlist ‘hasnt been determined’. how mean. @Ilation, maybe that means its undetermined for internationals? Aaaah I’m picking at straws here somebody pls ask!I dont want to seem bothersome by asking again.

Problem is atleast 12 people are waitlisted in my country. Plus the hundreds of others. THE NUMBERS ARE WORKING AGAINST MEEEE. lets all study in narnia.

I’m an international student and I was accepted from the waitlist last wednesday (May 5). They called my cell phone

Congrats to all those who were accepted!

Gahh, I’m so nervous. I’m already starting to give up hope of getting off the waitlist…
However, I do know two people from my area who were accepted to Princeton in April, but rejected the offer. So that’s two more spots for us! :)

So the first round of offers already came out… does anyone know how many rounds (estimate) there will be? There’s already so many posts on CC of people who got accepted…

Those of you who have already gotten off The List: did Princeton offer you a decent financial aid package?

Wizzle, of course you should go where you think you’ll get the best education and best preparation for life. But if you do decide to stick with Williams, then that’ll mean one more slot for those still on Princeton’s waiting list whose lifelong dream has been Princeton.
