D was waited at Duke.

Anyone know ... does Duke send out financial aid info if you are wait listed? Hard to make a decision on the off chance she gets in off the wait list without financial aid info.

Thanks.

Yea same thing happened to me... I just hope i got into my first pick... otherwise this could get really difficult...

You need to proceed with your D's first choice from the schools that she is accepted. When and if your D comes off the waitlist, your D needs to decide either to stay with first choice or to go to Duke (losing the deposit from the first choice). You should assume that your D is going to her first choice school. Even if your D comes off the waitlist, you would know that sometime in May through July.

Yeah, I know chances are slim that she will get in thru the wl. But I am wondering specifically if financial aid awards are mailed to those on the waitlist.

Or do they only send them out if you get off the wait list.

somewhat offtopic, but how good is duke's fin aid?

great3, I think that you will get your financial package when you are admitted. It doesn't make sense to give financial packages to everyone on the waitlist. I would guess that there are ~1,000 students on the waitlist. This is what I understand how it works. If not, please someone chime in.

i don't think waitlisted kids get finaid info unless they get in.

aznfishy, duke's finaid is generally not all that great. i remember it was about the same as northwestern's and brown's, but cornell's for some reason was far, far better so my parents asked duke to match cornell and they did. you always have that option...
