Does anyone know if they are taking people/when will we know?
I'm curious.

All I heard is that they might... or they might not. It's really a college by college decision. If any college is going to go to it, it will probably be CAS.

The fact that nobody on this board has claimed to have received a call yet is somewhat intriguing.

It is, I figured they'd take a couple weeks but I was wondering if anyone had any news.

Judging by the past year's posts, if they're taking people off, calls should start coming soon.

Just to confirm, I have yet to hear from them either so your not the only one. Is it safe to assume that if I don't hear back soon it is most likely a no?

Who knows? There are some people who heard back in late May, others, early May, etc.

You probably have much less of a chance past May though.

And as far as I know, no one has gotten a call yet.

We haven't received a call yet either, and DS applied to both engineering and CAS.

I think the latest they will take anybody is the middle of June, as a courtesy to other colleges.

^that sounds about right.

If you don't get a phone call...you will get a letter saying they were unable to offer you a spot. When I was on the Princeton waitlist I got my letter around the end of May.

Good luck guys!

thanks everyone

Anyone have any updates?

I called Cornell and they said they're still waiting to see how many people enroll.

i'm mailing in an update stat, they're probably still sorting out the enrollment aftermath. hopefully we'll hear some good news.

any news? :P

I read something on Cornell website (don't ask me where, but I'm honestly telling the truth) that they will start to notify/call people beginning the second or third week in May and go through the end of June.

what number will they call?

Home phone, probably.

I found this: New Policies for Class of 2012 Affect the Admissions Process | The Cornell Daily Sun
It says that they are planning to admit fewer students from the wait-list this year :(.

Yeah, it's pretty old news :P

We'll see how it really turns out though.

What I don't get is why they wait-listed more students when they are planning to take less students off.

Because everything is up in the air this year with changes in financial aid and Harvard, Princeton, and UVa's decision to go without early decision. It was very hard to predict yield this year.
