Now that the deposits would have been in, what are the prospects for those who are waiting for a chance? Is Lafayette likely to inform those on the wait list today i.e. before the week end?

Is there any significance to the email received last week asking us to confirm our continued interest?

plainb,

The prospects of our waitlisted candidates are hard to decipher at this point. I can tell you that we'll be turning to our wait list very soon. I can also provide data from the previous two incoming classes. For the Class of 2011, 69 students were admitted off the wait list; for the Class of 2010, 58 students.

That email was most likely for the purpose of identifying those candidates who should still be considered during wait list decisions. There are many who accepted a spot on the wait list only to have enrolled at another college, and we just want to be sure we really know who's still hanging in there.

It appears phone calls are going out since last Saturday to people on the wait list.

How come not a single post of successful waitlistees?

Is it that the process is over? And rest of us, who did not get any calls, should take it as end of the story?

plainb,

Not everyone who is pulled off the waitlist will be quick to post on these boards.

Thanks, Justin.

Do u have anything to say on whether the process is over? Thanks.

plainb,

I'm not sure how long the waitlist process takes. With that said, chances are it's still ongoing. Keep in mind that 1. not all applicants pulled off the waitlist will accept the offer, and 2. admitted applicants get a period to think it over.

At many colleges, the process runs through the entire month of May.
